Privacy Policy
Transform Bible is an app for reading and memorising Scripture out loud. This policy explains what the app keeps, why, and what it never does. "We" means Better Web International Limited. The short version: your voice stays on your phone, we keep only what is needed to track your progress, and your own copy of a translation is yours alone.
1. What we collect
Your account
You can sign in with Apple, Google or an email address and password. We store the identifier your sign-in provider gives us and, for email sign-in, your email address. You can also use the app without signing in; anything you do then is kept on your device and merged into your account the first time you sign in.
Your passages and progress
- The Bible references you save, favourite or start learning.
- For each recital: the reference, the mode (read aloud or recite), accuracy, words per minute, how many words needed a prompt, the by-heart percentage and points earned, and when it happened.
- Your settings: theme, reminder time, hint speed and reading text.
This is word-level accuracy only: which words you got right, missed or needed a prompt for. It is what powers the by-heart score, the shelf and the "Worth revisiting" suggestions.
Your own copy of a translation
If you paste or scan text from a Bible you own, the app stores that text under your account so it can show it back to you on the passage you added it to. It is treated like a note in a notes app: private to you, never published, shared, indexed, pooled with other users' text or used to train anything. Firestore security rules deny every cross-user read.
2. What we never collect
- Your voice. Speech is recognised on your phone using the device's own speech recognition. No audio is recorded, stored or uploaded by the app. Apple's speech framework may process speech on Apple's servers on some devices and iOS versions; that is governed by Apple's privacy policy and settings, not ours, and the app never receives audio.
- Your camera images. Scanning a page uses on-device text recognition. The image never leaves your phone and is discarded once the text is read.
- Advertising identifiers. The app has no adverts and no advertising trackers.
- Contacts, location or health data. The app does not ask for them.
3. How we use it
Only to run the app for you: to sign you in, keep your shelf and progress in step across your devices, decide which passage is ready for you today, and send the one daily reminder you can turn on in Settings. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Where it is stored
Account and app data are stored with Firebase, a Google service, using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Google acts as our processor and does not use this data for its own purposes.
5. Notifications
The daily nudge is off by default. If you turn it on, the app schedules one local notification a day at the time you choose, only on days when a passage is ready for you. Notifications are scheduled on your phone; we do not run a push service.
6. Your choices
- Export. Settings → Export my passages gives you a plain-text file of your own texts and your saved references.
- Delete. Settings → Delete account removes your sign-in and everything stored under it, including your own pasted or scanned texts. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Sign out. Signing out removes your data from that device.
7. Children
Transform Bible is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Scripture text
The Berean Standard Bible is included under a CC BY licence: Berean Standard Bible, © Berean Bible, used under CC BY. No other translation is provided by the app. Any other text is your own copy, added by you, for your own use.
9. Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you before the change takes effect. Questions go to Better Web International Limited at [email protected].
